Are you a Christian songwriter or video-maker? Or do you know someone who is? I have a challenge and opportunity for you (or them).

As part of our 20th-anniversary celebration in 2025, The Gospel Coalition is hosting our first-ever song and video contest. You may have seen TGC’s announcement about it last month, but if not, you can learn all about it (including prize details, deadline, and the submission form) at tgc.org/gospelcontest.

There are two ways to enter, either by submitting an original song or an original short video. But the prompt is the same for both: What is the gospel? How would you compellingly convey the gospel in the artistic forms of music or moving images? I love seeing what creative people come up with when challenged to capture a big idea. And there is no bigger, or grander, or more important idea than the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Please spread the word about this opportunity! And take your time to create something great. You have a couple months until the deadline, and I suspect that those who take the time to create something really thoughtful, beautiful, with high production quality, will have the best chance of winning.

So get to work! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
