| One of my favorite things about being an arts and culture editor for a Christian website like TGC is that I get to point people to quality Christian art. It exists! If we want to keep raising the bar of quality on Christian-made art, we need to be sharing and celebrating the best that we find (join the TGC Arts and Culture Facebook Group to participate in that work!). As a parent, I want to teach my kids from a young age that “excellent Christian art” is not an oxymoron. I want them to grow up loving Christian music and not thinking it is cheesy or sub par compared to secular offerings. I want them to have plenty of examples of musically creative, lyrically rich, theologically sound Christian songs—so that they might be inspired to excellence in their own faith-driven creativity. That’s part of why I recently took up the task of highlighting Christian artists who I think are making quality music for kids. This exists too! If you are a parent, check out the 14 artists I highlight below, and maybe subscribe to the new, 50-song playlist I created to accompany the article (Spotify | Apple Music). The music your kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews love shapes what they love. Surround them with music that helps them love God. |
