| Welcome to another season of Gospelbound! I’m excited for what’s in store, starting today with former Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam. Other guests already interviewed include Sam Allberry, Jen Michel, Jonathan Leeman, Jeffrey Bilbro, Blair Linne, and Daniel Strange. If you like what you’re learned the last three seasons, I trust you’ll be encouraged by the interviews in season four. We’re covering God’s good intent for our bodies, news that helps you love your neighbors, the unique privilege of physical assembly, and our society’s longing for the divine, along with the usual range of other subjects you’ve come to expect from Gospelbound guests. Thank you for your faithful prayers over the last four months since you last heard from me. With gratefulness, I can report that God worked a miracle. Lauren and I welcomed our precious son, William Christopher, in July. And this week I’m in Copenhagen and Amsterdam working out some of the first sermons and talks from this summer’s writing. No doubt much of the reading and writing from this summer will appear in the Gospelbound podcast even before you’ll see it in 2023 with my next (not yet public) book project. Starting in January I’m excited to teach Cultural Apologetics through Beeson Divinity School, and there’s no better way to prepare than to talk with my favorite writers and teachers on this podcast. Your support and encouragement has spurred me along! “Refreshing” is probably the best way to describe this week’s interview with Gov. Haslam. I don’t know how we arrive at the point where the humility of Philippians 2 becomes the qualifying trait of politicians. At this point I’d just settle for us church leaders demonstrating that humility! But God works miracles, and if you’re like me, you need this glimmer of hope in our distressing times. |
