The Slice

We’ve all heard the phrase, “It’s not about you.” Often, it’s uttered as a form of correction. But when it comes to Scripture, it’s a surprisingly freeing reality. The Bible is not about us—it’s wholly and beautifully about God. Yet it’s written for us, for our good and growth, so we might know God and learn to love him more.

When we approach God’s Word with this understanding, we come humbly—acknowledging what we don’t know and admitting we need help. We don’t have to have it all figured out. We simply keep showing up, letting his Word dwell in us day after day.

To explore this topic further, tune in to this week’s Deep Dish episode, “The Bible Is For You,” and commit to working through the discussion questions below with a friend or two!
