This week’s tributes to David Powlison, who died on June 7 at 69 years old, might be the most encouraging articles I’ve ever read from TGC. It’s one thing to praise someone or at least restrain criticism for him in death. It’s another thing to see colleagues like Paul Tripp and other friends line up one after another to honor David’s public work and also glorify God for his consistent Christian character.

We will miss David Powlison, who asked his good friends Tim Keller and Ray Ortlund to read his final message to fellow TGC Council members as they met after our 2019 national conference. But we have much reason to give thanks to God for his life and teaching that will endure.
