| Last fall I invited some friends to eat dinner and discuss artificial intelligence. By then, AI had already changed how we work, how we travel, how we exercise, how we plan meals, how we parent, and a whole lot more. Humanity has never before seen such a transformative technology become so widely used in such a short period of time. Thankfully I had some help in guiding our dinner conversation. I brought along Keller Center fellow Christopher Watkin, visiting us from Australia. Chris helped us see AI as an apocalypse—it exposes what makes us unique as humans when computers can write, innovate, learn, and develop. Turns out AI reveals much about our desires, our fears, and our hopes. From that meeting emerged plans for a limited-season podcast, which begins this week. Listen in to or watch Chris on Silicon Spiritualities as he talks to pastors, theologians, technologists, ethicists, and artists about how Scripture helps Christians live with discernment and faithfulness in the age of AI. Chris is also a featured teacher in our upcoming six-week online cohort, Get Ready for the Age of AI: A Personal and Practical Guide to Our New World, which starts August 12. Every cohort participant will receive an exclusive early copy of our new Keller Center book, The AI Apocalypse: A Survival Guide for Humanity, featuring chapters by Ben Sasse, Alan Noble, and Rachel Gilson, among others, including technical experts working in AI around the world. AI probably reveals even more than you realize. Let Chris guide you in wisdom and hope. |
