| I never thought I’d say this, but I miss standing in the church bathroom line. Small interactions and seemingly insignificant conversations happen in the midst of waiting and washing hands: “It’s beginning to feel like spring outside.” “That’s such a beautiful drawing. Did you do that in Sunday School?” “I love your dress. Is it new?” We may once have considered these casual conversations forgettable, unnecessary, and somewhat mundane. However, as Megan Hill wisely reminds us, “It would be a mistake to also conclude that just because a relationship isn’t close it isn’t important.” With that in mind, I’m looking forward to both the in-depth learning and casual conversations at TGC’s Women’s Conference next month in Indianapolis. We’ll be studying the book of James: digging into what it means to “count it all joy” (James 1:2) and grow steadfast in faith as we encounter various types of trials. If you want to attend, you can join in person (and I’ll be on the lookout for you in the bathroom line) or virtually—with a pretty amazing format that lets you participate in real time for all the sessions. You can register here for TGCW21 and have access to all the breakout sessions as well. You can also register for the TGC National Conference and look forward to receiving six free books. Whatever way you feel comfortable coming, we hope you’ll join us! |
