It was the day before summer camp. Busy making sure I had my clothes, toiletries, shower shoes, and Bible packed, I texted my camp friends with anticipation and excitement: “I can’t wait to see you tomorrow!!!” 

While I looked forward to the activities camp offered, it was the friendships that made the experience so meaningful. I only saw these friends once or twice a year, but our shared memories, laughter, and love for Christ united us, making these some of my most special friendships, even to this day. 

I loved hearing Melissa Kruger, Courtney Doctor, and Jen Wilkin talk on a recent Instagram reel about how TGC women’s conferences have been a similar experience. Each conference is not only an opportunity to worship and learn with other women but also provides a chance to reunite with old friends or to simply enjoy late night conversations that rarely happen in the midst of busy lives. And just like Courtney says in the reel, “If you don’t have camp friends to bring, come and meet some new ones!”
