| Have you noticed that adults tend to complicate things that seem very simple to children? Take evangelism. When my son realized some of our neighbors weren’t Christians, he started looking for ways to share the gospel with them. Mom, I have an extra Bible. Could I give it to our neighbors? Mom, I brought a flyer home from church about the Easter service. Let’s take it next door. His approach is simple—what can I do to share the gospel? I, on the other hand, tend to focus on what I can’t do. For example, what if they ask me a hard theological question I can’t answer? Or what if they bring up a strange Scripture passage I can’t explain? And what if I can’t find a non-awkward way to bring up the gospel in the first place? The truth is, I’ll never be prepared to answer every possible question an unbeliever might ask. And that’s ok. There’s not a question I could be asked that another believer hasn’t carefully considered. And many of those questions have been answered right on the TGC website. Just recently, Jen Wilkin wrote a helpful article explaining the mark of the beast in Revelation, and there are hundreds of others that engage similarly hard questions. But evangelism is more than answering hard questions. If you want to grow in your ability to share your faith, we invite you to join us this fall for a six-week virtual cohort called Sharing the Gospel in Everyday Life. Our hope is to encourage you in the gospel, equip you to share it with others, and connect you to women who desire to do the same. Registration is open and space is limited, so sign up today! |
