When The Keller Center launched in 2023, one topic with apologetic significance that failed to gain traction with supporters was artificial intelligence. At the time, AI was a niche subject reserved for nerds who spent too much time in the library and on computers as a kid.

Fast forward to 2025. All of a sudden, AI crossed over into conversations at soccer practice, coffee shops, and church. Large language models (LLMs) weren’t just something software engineers used to “vibe code”— it became something you used to analyze your bloodwork, build custom diets and workouts, and create worksheets for your kid’s education.

As AI grew from clumsy, hallucinating high schooler to confident, flattering graduate student, navigating this new technology became increasingly complex. And complexity triggers our fight-or-flight response, with polarizing approaches.

AI is making our future more complex. So, what exactly should we do about that?

Complexity is best met with constructive curiosity.

When in comes to ever-changing AI, all of us can do three things right now:

  1. Educate yourself on how LLM technology works, what it’s good at, and what it currently struggles to do.
  2. Develop clear rules informed by a Christian worldview about when you will and won’t use an LLM.
  3. Grow in your ability to use prompt engineering to maximize the technological potential.

So, then, what is The Gospel Coalition doing to help resource Christians and the church for this new complexity?

We have a multi-year multimedia plan to create a wide array of resources to equip parents, grandparents, teachers, pastors, marketplace leaders, lawmakers, and tech creators. These resources will aim at different levels and formats—books, articles, audio, and video. We’re working to produce these resources so we can stay ahead of new AI developments. We already have several projects under development.

Please pray for Keller Center staff as we work toward these goals. In recent weeks we’ve met with leaders from several of the major AI platforms for productive conversations. We’re seeking to ensure religious freedom for LLMs and trying to help improve their technology both theologically and also ethically.

As you pray, we also welcome your financial support in this work that will shape how future generations navigate our complex world with the hope of the gospel.
