February 4, 2026 Before I joined the staff at The Keller Center, I was reading (providentially, as it turned out) Timothy Keller: His Spiritual and Intellectual Formation by Collin Hansen. While I was familiar with some of Tim’s influences through the sources he’d cite in his preaching and writing (the Puritans, British evangelicals, and Herman Bavinck), what I appreciated most about the book was learning about the men and women who shaped Tim with more than just their words. People like Elisabeth Elliot and Ed Clowney devoted their time and presence to help mold this young seminarian into the man and pastor he became. When Tim passed shortly after Collin’s book was published, I began to wonder what might be added to Tim’s spiritual and intellectual biography if it were published today. Gratefully, my curiosities have been satisfied, not just through my time working for the Center, but because Collin’s book has been updated and expanded this week for paperback release. It contains new material that discusses Tim’s legacy and why it should endure. If you count Tim as part of your spiritual and intellectual life, I encourage you to consider adding this book to your collection. Matt Lietzen Content Strategist ORDER FROM TGC STORE |
