I remember early on in meeting my Senior Pastor his sharing of a hauntingly helpful phrase that has frequently replayed in my mind. It has been like a sanctified taser, serving to awake and motivate me. Here is the quote…
“You should be ready to preach, pray or die within 5 minutes”
I love this advice and so I share it with you, that it too may be hauntingly helpful, especially if you are a pastor. His emphasis was no doubt on the preaching portion, as we should always be ready to pray and die. Well, I am feeling the love on the preaching side right now. So, pray if you would, or else I may die. (half-joking).
