Our Heavenly Father greatly delights in us, quiets us by his love, and exults over us with loud singing. (Zeph.3:17). The Lord Jesus never stops advocating and interceding for us and working in all things for our good (Heb.7:25; Rom.8:28). The Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses—reminding us we are God’s beloved children (Rom.8:16) and praying for us according to our Father’s will (Rom.8:26-27).
Most loving and blessed, Father, because of the Gospel, we never have to gussy-up or grovel-low before you. Since you have given Jesus as our “righteousness, holiness, and redemption” (1Cor.1:30), we don’t have to guess, question, or doubt what you think about us. You delight in us—not to the degree we are like Jesus, but to the degree we are in Jesus, which is 100%. Oh, the peace this gives us.
Lord Jesus, there is no Savior like you—there is no Savior but you. Your advocacy is our assurance, your intercession is our protection, and your 24/7 Good-Shepherding is our pillow, mattress, and rest. When you return, you won’t just finish making all things new and beautiful, you will make us completely like yourself. Until then you are ruler over ever king of the earth—sovereign over every tick of the clock, square inch of the cosmos, and mystery in the universe.
And Holy Spirit, thank you for sealing us, indwelling us, and faithfully praying inside of us. You know Abba’s will and heart and pray accordingly. And as we send our most passionate and most feeble prayers heavenward, you actually “heal” those prayers as they come before the occupied throne of grace. Thank you for preaching and applying the Gospel to our hearts every day, every hour, every minute, no exceptions. Father, Son, and Spirit—thank you for loving us as you do. So Very Amen.
