Abba, Father greatly delights in us, quiets us by his love, and exults over us with loud singing. (Zeph.3:17). Jesus never stops advocating and interceding for us. (Heb. 7:25). The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness… He prays for us, inside us, according to our Father’s will… with groaning’s too deep for words (Rom. 8:26-27).
Gracious God, as we meditate on the multiple ways you love and care for us, nothing generates greater peace, deeper awe, and intense longings to be free from all of our unbelief. Abba, Father, because of the Gospel, we don’t have to gussy up or grovel low before you. Since you have given Jesus as our “righteousness, holiness, and redemption” (1Cor.1:30), we don’t have to guess, question, or doubt what you think about us. You actually delight in us—not to the degree we are like Jesus, but in Jesus, which is 100%.
Lord Jesus, because you ever live to serve us, may we ever live to trust and love you. Your advocacy is our assurance, your intercession is our protection, and your 24/7 care is our pillow, mattress, and rest. Jesus, your return will not only make all things new and beautiful, but will finally convince us that you really are our loving Bridegroom, and that that wasn’t a figure of speech or sentimental metaphor. Hallelujah!
And Holy Spirit, thank you for sealing us, indwelling us, and faithfully praying inside of us. When we don’t know what to pray, or have little desire to do so, you know Abba’s will and heart, and pray accordingly. And as we send our most passionate and most feeble prayers heavenward, you actually “heal” those prayers as they come before the occupied throne of grace. Gracious God, We. Are. So. Loved. So Very Amen.
