“I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb… And they were shouting with a great roar, ‘Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!’” Rev. 7:9-10
Lord Jesus, we long for the Day when the “great roar” of your Bride will be louder than any concert, sporting event—really, anything we have ever heard. Our heart-joy, sensory-overload, and love for you will be unlike anything we have ever experienced…. and it’s never gonna stop.
On that Day, “the earth will be filled (as in saturated!) with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea” (Hab. 2:14). All sin, brokenness, sickness, and death will be gone forever. Only perfect everything will remain.
Old notions we’ve had about God and heaven will seem silly compared to the wonders of our life in the new heaven and new earth. We’ll realize Eden was “just” a sketch, hint, and down payment on the life we will enjoy forever.
History has more than meaning; it has you …
Reigning over the Kings of the earth
Actively redeeming your every-nation Bride
Making all things new and working in all things for our good.
Jesus, should you give us 3 more months, years, or decades to live, may we be preoccupied with you and more invested in life on mission. So Very Amen we pray, and “roar.”
