Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matt. 19:14) “Anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Matt. 18:4).
Lord Jesus, I have just spent a most amazing 3 ½ days immersing myself in the heartbeat, grace-work, and growing family of Compassion International. I thought I was here to be a platform speaker; I now realize your intent was for me to be a looker, listener, and learner.
What have I seen? A family of women and men who are passionately and sacrificially answering your call to advocate for children around the world—to enter the world of our globe’s most vulnerable citizens, children. To love them. To serve them. To feed them the staff of life and bread from heaven—the Gospel.
What have I heard? Story after story, of your compassionate heart, saving grace, and advancing Kingdom. But of course… who but You would build the most eternal and unshakable Kingdom through the hearts and hands of children? Oh Jesus, you are a most wonderful and merciful Savior.
What have I learned? During the past few days, I’ve met, wept, and rejoiced with an incredible array of your “adult-children,” who are talented, successful, and wealth-gifted. I am once again convinced that—no matter our age, you intend to free each of us from a life childishness for a life of childlikeness—a lifestyle of Gospel-wonder, Father-trust, Kingdom-joy, and grace-fueled generosity. Hallelujah, and thank you, Lord Jesus. So very Amen we pray in your tender and triumphant name.
