“I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace… This grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ…” Eph. 3:7-8
Heavenly Father, today we thank you for those who share the Gospel with us—through their preaching, teaching, and writing. Nothing is more awesome, necessary, and glorious than the Gospel of your grace. By the Gospel, our sins are forgiven, our guilt is gone, and shame is shattered—and that’s just for starters.
We’re rooted in your love and standing in your grace. The Spirit sealed us, and you adopted us. Now clothed in Christ’s righteousness, we rest in your sovereign rule and wait for Jesus’ blessed return. We are immeasurably blessed.
So, indeed, hear our prayers for those who share the great riches of your grace with us. May the Gospel stay ever fresh in their hearts, and Jesus grow ever beautiful in their gaze. May they hear the Spirit’s witness to their “sonship” 1000 times more loudly than the adulation of men and accusations of Satan.
Father, grant them humility and joy appropriate to their labors, and kindness and boldness essential for their callings. May they tremble at your Word, boast in your Son, and be filled with your Spirit.
Grant them well-timed refreshment, and grace-quickened repentances. Provide them with deep, fun, life-giving Gospel-friendships; and caring, seasoned mentors. Move us to pray for them when they need it the most, Father. So very Amen we pray, in Jesus’ powerful and loving name.
