Praise the Lord, my soul; Psalm 103:1

all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—

Heavenly Father, news-bites about the “virus” inundate us. But ten-thousand times more so, we want to keep out hearts inundated with the grace-benefits of the Gospel. Crisis or no crisis, this is the only news that deserves our full attention. May it go “viral” through every cell of our being.

3 who forgives all your sins

Though we will be more like Jesus one Day, we’ll never be more forgiven, known, and loved than we are today in Him. Thank you, Father.

and heals all your diseases,

Now this is timely. You don’t always heal on our timetable, nonetheless, by the Gospel, you have guaranteed perfect health for us forever. One Day, every expression of disease and weakness will give way to the fullness of Jesus’ beauty, joy, and life. No more gunk, only glory; no more brokenness, only beauty; no more death, only dancing!

4 who redeems your life from the pit

Father, not only have you redeemed us from the ultimate “pit” of death and judgment, you also rescue us out of other kinds of “pits.” Some of the obvious “pits” in the journey in front of us include the pits of fear, self-pity, and unbelief. (Friends, pause a moment to consider the other “pits” you already find yourself in, or are walking towards. There’s grace for every one of them!)

and crowns you with love and compassion,
Hallelujah, in Jesus you have removed our grave-clothes of sin, and have dressed us in grace-garments of the Gospel. We’re no longer condemned, we are crowned with your compassion—righteous in Christ, beloved and delighted in; desired and fully enjoyed. You cannot love us more and you’ll never love us less. Thank you, Abba! So very Amen we pray, in Jesus’ wonderful and merciful name.
