“When Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God “(Heb. 10:12). “(Jesus) ascended into heaven and is now sitting at God’s right hand. Every angel, all authorities, and powers—good and evil, are subject to him.” (1Pet.3:22). “There Jesus waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet” (Heb.10:13).

Lord Jesus, after your resurrection and ascension, you sat down. And well you should have, for you accomplished a whole lot (major understatement). But unlike us, your sitting down wasn’t akin to falling into a hammock, “going on sabbatical,” or taking a long nap. Your sitting was an enthroning, and no one has ever been more active, loving, and engaged than you are at this very moment. Hallelujah, and thank you. Among other things, here are 12 things you are actively doing:

Making all things new (Rev.1:5)

Interceding for us constantly (Heb.7:25)

Redeeming your every nation Bride (Rev.7)

Working in all things for our good (Rom.8:28)

Enjoying fellowship with the Father and us (1 Jn 1:3)

Sustaining all things by your powerful word (Heb.1:3)

Being worshipped by everyone in heaven (Rev.5:9-19)

Ruling over every king, crisis, and moment (Rev.1:4b-6)

Putting all of your enemies under your feet (1Cor.15:25)

Delighting in us and making us like yourself (Isa.62:5; 1Jn.3:1-3)

Reminding us, when we sin, your righteousness is ours (1Jn.2:1-2)

Preparing a place for us and “prepping” us for your return (Jn.14:1–3)

Hallelujah! Jesus, may your constant care for us wilt our unbelief, sabotage our fears, compel our trust, and fuel our worship. You are truly our most wonderful, merciful Savior. So Very Amen.
