“When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” Titus 4:3

Lord Jesus, not just during your incarnation, but every day in every place, you continue to appear—to be present, engaged, and at work. Whether it’s “out of the blue” or from within dark clouds—with a whisper, bang, or song, you will never leave or forsake us. Sometimes it’s through a friend, always by your Word, often by some unexpected providence—you love us with tenacious tenderness and “long-game” wisdom. Thank you.

Though we’d like to script-and-time some of the moments when you really “show up”—in hindsight, we know you’re never late or non-caring. Like Martha, in our grief and shortsightedness, we sometimes say (or shout), “Lord, if you had been here…” (John 11:21). We will have plenty of mystery-laced days, but never a Christ-absent one. Thank you.

Jesus, for many of us, our weakness is gaining momentum and our weariness is stockpiling—demand by demand, broken story by broken story, and crisis by crisis. You have saved us for eternity, we now look to you in this moment. For ourselves and for sharing with others, grant us fresh-baked grace-manna from heaven and living water from the Spirit. Without exception, we will always find you welcoming, kind, and generous. Thank you, and So Very Amen.
