Love, Love, Love … on Gospel Steroids

“Let ALL you do be done in love” (1Cor.16:14).
“The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself in love” (Gal.5:6).
“Anyone who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love” (1Jn4:8)
“The one who fears has not been made perfect in love” (1Jn.4:18).
“With all humility and gentleness, with patience—bear with one another in love” (Eph.4:2).
Lord Jesus, I’ve never craved this Day more—the Day all fear will be gone, and we will be made perfect in love. We will see you as you are and we will be made like you 100% (1Jn.3:3).Thank you for this enthralling hope, glorious future, and guaranteed inheritance—fear-void and love-full.
What will it be like to only be able to love and impossible for us to ever love poorly again? Political parties will be replaced with Gospel parties. No one will be used or sold—only welcomed and cherished. There won’t be any more spite, fight, or flight—no more selfishness, racism, or tribalism. We never again love partially, selectively, and imperfectly. The new command—to love as you love us—won’t be a command to obey, but a joy to live. Never critical, we will only be curious of each other’s wonder, beauty, and Jesus-likeness.
We won’t be “color blind”; we will finally be enthralled with the diversity of your beloved Bride. Prejudice—like all evil, will be eradicated, and in its place will be the beauty of humility, kindness, and acceptance. We’ll never have to repent again or ask for and extend forgiveness. Jesus, thank you for securing ALL of this. We both patiently and impatiently wait for your return to usher it all in. Hallelujah, and So Very Amen.
