“My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:19
Heavenly Father, your “cash flow” is as great as the riches of your glory for us in Jesus. Your generosity is expansive, including all our needs—not just the things we tend to label “spiritual.” Birds eat regularly because of you. Flowers in the field are adorned with multi-colored hues because of you.
You have enriched us beyond measure with the gifts of total forgiveness and Jesus’ righteousness. In gratitude and expectancy, we bring you these needs as well.
Some of us need grace to love well in exhausting, frustrating, no-end-in-sight relational dilemmas. Whether it’s where we live, or where we work, or both, please give us what we need to honor you.
Some of us are facing decisions, transitions, and changes for which we need your wisdom, peace, and sovereign hand. We trust you, Father.
Some of us, are close to praying for “daily bread.” For new jobs, financial manna, and economic grace, we turn to you.
Some of us have health challenges, or loved ones who are quite sick. Grateful for the promise of our resurrection bodies, we cry out for healing, sufficient grace, and pain relief.
Some of us have need for “un-needing.” Father, free us from calling things “need” that really aren’t. Comparison, envy and discontent are making us miserable.
For these, and everything else, we look to you Father, in Jesus’ loving name, Amen.
