And this is the plan: At the right time, he (God) will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. Eph. 1:10 (NLT)

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Col. 3:1-2 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, I woke up today feeling a bit disoriented, scattered, and unfocused. There’s nothing troubling in my spirit, major on the horizon, or lurking from the past. Maybe it’s just because I flew from Krakow, to Amsterdam, to Minneapolis, to Nashville yesterday—so many time zones, airports, and incredible memories.

In any case, Father, I want to live today in light of the great Day when everything will be united, peaceful, and complete in Jesus. What a blessed Day that will be—no more divided self, but a united heart; no more discord in anything, but the beauty of God in all things; no more meanness anywhere, just the kindness of your kingdom everywhere.

There won’t be any more rushing about, just living forever at the pace of grace; no more schedules to keep, but a Triune God to love with everything we have and are. Hasten that blessed Day. Well before then—even today, you call us to cast our cares on you, and bring our weariness and heavy-laden-ness to Jesus. Thank you, Father.

So right now, on this November Saturday, we set our affection and thinking on Jesus—the author and perfecter of our faith, the Lamb of God and Lord of all things, our Advocate in heaven and Shepherd on this earth. For the more we center on Jesus, the more we’ll live at peace in a world, with care for our neighbors, and hope for tomorrow. May it be so. So very Amen I pray, in Jesus’ loving and powerful name.
