Psalm 63:1-5  “O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole-body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.”

Dear Jesus, this Psalm is an artesian spring—a free-for-everybody fountain of Gospel-libation opened for our parched, thirsty hearts in the various “deserts” of life. We crave the healing, satisfying, cleansing waters of your grace. No other aquatic provision will do.

“I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.” – Jesus, we see you most clearly in the sanctuary of the Gospel. There, we discover you to be more glorious than we ever imagined, more loving than we dared hoped, and most ready to slake our whole-body thirst.

“Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!” – Jesus, your love doesn’t just give us a great life; your love is better than life itself. When we are most alive to your love, our worries shrivel, our shame shrinks, and our hope gets super-sized. Hallelujah… your love is as unwavering as it is limitless—as liberating and it is lavish. Make this real today, and throughout this upcoming week.

“I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.” – Embarrassed to raise our hands to you? No… we lift our hands, toes, heads, and hearts to you, Jesus. You alone are worthy of our adoration and affection.

“You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.” – There is no feast or banquet, riches or inheritance, relationship(s) or romance that can satisfy us the way you do, Jesus. Thank you, and So Very Amen.
