We posted a new episode this week of the Word Matters podcast, on Matthew 7, and this question: “Is it possible to do works in Jesus’ name and still be lost?” You can subscribe to the podcast here: iTunes | Android | RSS

Seven of the best articles I came across this week:
1. Mark Galli – A Meditation on the Orlando Shooting. This latest attack is part of a pattern, and the pretext for a remarkable prayer.
2. Michelle Boorstein in the Washington Post – This Rapper Might Be America’s Next Evangelical Leader. In-depth profile of Lecrae.
3. Alan Jacobs – Habits of Mind in an Age of Distraction. Small steps to meet the challenge of hearing God in a technologically disruptive environment.
4. Charlotte Alter in Time – Here’s the Woman Who Took A Year Off From Her Marriage. “Marriage” – people keep using that word, but they don’t know what it means.
5. When I posted my picks for Top 5 Most Important Theologians, many disagreed with my choice of Calvin over Luther. Ryan Reeves continues his series of biographical sketches by explaining why he agrees with my rationale.
6. Collin Hansen interviews New York Times columnist Ross Douthat. A long interview (70 minutes) but well worth your time.
7. Lore Wilbert – A Short Story about Sin, Secrets, and Searching for Shrimp. Lore writes a fictional story in response to the New Yorker article I wrote about yesterday, which featured two men living as animals.
