Kindle Deal: Shaped by the Gospel: Doing Balanced, Gospel-Centered Ministry in Your City by Tim Keller. $4.99.

Bible Study Magazine did an interview / profile of me and my work with The Gospel Project (and some thoughts on ministry in general). You can find it here.

Seven of the best articles I came across this week:

1. Kate Harrison Brennan – No Place for Exile: How Christians Should (Not) Make Sense of Their Place in the World. Some healthy pushback against a one-to-one correlation between Christians and the Babylonian exile.

2. Alain de Botton – Why You Will Marry the Wrong Person. The New York Times’ most-read article last year takes aim at the Romanticist notion of marriage.

3. Roy Peachey – The Troubling Legacy of Shūsaku Endō’s Silence. Here’s why Catholics in Japan reacted fiercely to this novel when it was released.

4. Gerald McDermott – Betrayal and Shame: The US Abstention from Allegiance with Israel. A good, historical overview of what just took place.

5. Eric Geiger – 5 Truths about Great Ministry Leaders. Good insight here.

6. Karen Ellis – Christianity Without An Adjective. We shape society when we remember who we are first and foremost.

7. J. R. Vassar – When I Don’t Feel Successful. Wise, pastoral insight here for those times you feel like you’re failing.

If you’re using The Gospel Project, you’re likely getting ready to shift over into the New Testament as we journey through the grand narrative of Scripture. This video should get you excited for it. The Rescue Begins!
