Seven of the best articles I came across this week:
1. Nathan A. Finn – Inerrancy and Evangelicals: The Challenge for a New Generation. This is an important article on the history and current state of inerrancy and evangelicalism.
2. Aaron Wilson – The 2 Most Important Questions You Can Ask Your Congregation. Powerful reflection here on how pastors can lead in ways that point people to Jesus during this time.
3. Sean McDowell – Think Our Culture is Relativistic? Think Again. Sean McDowell doesn’t think our culture is relativistic, and he shows the moral stances and obligations from people on different sides of the political aisle to make the point.
4. Samuel James – Courage Takes More Than a Keyboard: Christian Nerve in a Digital Age. Samuel James warns against cheap conviction that wars for the truth with no skin in the game.
5. Y Bonesteele – Prioritize Cross-Cultural Ministry. Cross-cultural ministry creates opportunities for these baby steps out of our comfort zone, that allows us to make bigger steps for the Lord when He so calls us.
6. Erick Erickson – Yep, I Did Change. “Enrolling in seminary made me realize how I was twisting my faith to conform to my politics and not the other way around.” – reflective post here from talk show host and writer Erick Erickson.
7. Martin Foord – The “Epistle of Straw”: Reflection on Luther and the Epistle of James. Luther famously called James’ letter an “epistle of straw” but still believed it canonical. Here’s an explanation of Luther’s two-tiered view of the New Testament, with a theological critique of his position.
