Seven of the best articles I came across this week:
1. Mark Noll – What Kind of Turning Point? History is an unpredictable thing. Respect it, says evangelical historian Mark Noll.
2. Anne Helen Petersen – Welcome the Covid Influencer. This is a fascinating article in which Instagram influencers, Christian higher education, brand ambassadors, and COVID all collide.
3. Janie B. Cheaney – Read, learn, enjoy. If you (or someone you love) are eyeing the scary prospect of full or partial homeschooling for the first time, allow Janie B. Cheaney to share three life lessons for anxious beginners.
4. Nicholas Batzig – When Speaking About Jesus’ Bride. A good reminder – “The church is certainly subject to criticism and correction; but, those things must always be done out of love and a desire to treat her for what she is in truth–the very bride of Christ.”
5. Ben Mandrell – 3 Reorienting Truths for the Discouraged Pastor. Good word here for pastors who may be discouraged right now.
6. John McCormack – The Hyde Amendment Is in Peril. “The best research indicates that the Hyde Amendment has saved over two million unborn children” since the policy was first enacted in 1976. That’s an average of 50,000 human lives saved from abortion each year.
7. James C. Capretta – The Latest in the Global Race for a COVID Vaccine. The U.S., through its Operation Warp Speed initiative, has already invested more than $10 billion in six different vaccine candidates.
