Podcast Pick: Unseen Leadership from the LifeWay Leadership Podcast Network: Growing in Self-Awareness with Dean Inserra.

Kindle Deal: Center Church: Doing Balanced, Gospel-Centered Ministry in Your City by Tim Keller. $4.99.

Seven of the best articles I came across this week:

1. Aaron Earls – Most Evangelicals Choose Trump Over Biden, But Clear Divides Exist. New study from LifeWay Research on Christians who hold to evangelical beliefs. The ethnic divide is staggering.

2. Greg Gilbert – How to Hold Your Tongue About Politics and Thereby Not Split Your Church Over Things the Bible Doesn’t Talk About. A lot of wisdom here from Greg Gilbert.

3. Jen Oshman – How To Thrive Through Transition. “The bottom line, hard-to-believe truth is that the path to thriving faith on the other side of any transition—including this pandemic—is plain, but many won’t take it.” On a related note, see also Joy Allmond – Are You Cheating On Your Church? “If you have fallen away from your local faith family, tether yourself back to them. It’s often beneficial to listen to well-platformed preachers and teachers, but they’re not the shepherds caring for your soul.”

4. Dana G. Smith – The Most Likely Way You’ll Get Infected With Covid-19. We know so much more about this disease than we did in March. That’s good news.

5. Chris Hulshof – 4 Reasons Why Leaders Must Be Readers. A leader who reads demonstrates that they are teachable because every book they read proclaims, “I am still a student.”

6. Daniel Voshart – Roman Emperor Project. This is pretty cool. Someone has created photo-real portraits of Roman Emperors — transforming, or restoring (cracks, noses, ears etc.) almost a thousand images of busts to make the 54 emperors of The Principate (27 BC to 285 AD).

7. Thomas Kidd – Amy Coney Barrett and Anti-Catholicism in America. Thomas Kidd puts recent examples of anti-Catholic bigotry (toward Judge Amy Coney Barrett) in a wider American historical context.
