About Us:
Our Mission
Relying upon the Holy Spirit, Goshen Baptist Church exists to introduce people to Christ, to help them mature in their relationship with God and to enable them to effectively impact the lives of others for the Savior both here in West Chester and throughout the world.
Our Vision
The vision of Goshen Baptist Church is to motivate, train and deploy our people to exercise their full potential as disciple-makers and servants of God.
To accomplish this, we strive for:
• Fervency in our times of worship
• Accuracy, clarity and relevance in our preaching and teaching
• Small Group participation for all the church
• The involvement of the entire body in serving the Lord according to each person’s giftedness
Clarifying the Vision
Specifically we will:
1. Exercise our deep dependence upon God by a commitment to corporate, small group or private prayer for one another and the ministry of Goshen Baptist Church. (Jeremiah 33:3; John 14:13-14; Acts 1:12-14)
2. Endeavor to have quality times of worship where the congregation will be encouraged to participate in times of adoration and praise to God through various forms of music, prayer, Scripture reading, moments of stillness, and artistic expressions. (Psalm 145-150)
3. Be open to the clear leading of the Holy spirit and the fresh approaches to ministry that He places before us. Tradition and history should be respected but never allowed to impede the work of the Lord and His ministry here at Goshen. (Galatians 5:16, 25; Acts 8:26-29; 13:1-3; 15:28; 16:6)
4. Promote Sunday School for both children and adults that will be rich in biblical content, coupled with a high degree of life application. (2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16; I Peter 3:15)
5. Foster the growth of small group ministries believing that within this context lives undergo the greatest spiritual growth. (Matthew 11:1; Mark 10:32; Matthew 17:1-3)
6. Encourage the growth of men’s and women’s ministries as well as ministries among our youth and children that will mature them as disciples and disciple-makers. (Matthew 28:18-20)
7. Anticipate growth, because when God’s church is healthy and experiencing His blessing, it will not only grow in quality but in quantity. (Acts 2:41; 5:14; 6:1; 6:7)
8. Place a high priority on the upkeep and condition of our grounds and facilities. They should always be clean and attractive. The Lord is worthy of our best effort and the condition of our property is a powerful testimony of our devotion to Him. (Exodus 25-28; Colossians 3:17; 2 Chronicles 29:1-13; 2:1-7)
