Christianity: Good, True, and Beautiful?

In modern Western culture, Christianity is often seen as anything but good, true, and beautiful. The Bible’s teaching when it comes to sexuality and gender can lead people to think Christianity is actively immoral and harmful. Bible passages about warfare, women’s roles, and eternal punishment can also raise skepticism about Christianity’s goodness. In this session, you’ll discover how you can help your non-believing friends and neighbors see the beauty, truth, and goodness of our Savior.

Rachel Gilson (PhD, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) serves on the leadership team of theological development and culture with Cru. Her writing has appeared at Christianity Today, Desiring God, and The Gospel Coalition, and she regularly speaks at churches and on college campuses. She is the author of Parenting Without Panic in an LGBT-Affirming World and Born Again This Way. She lives in the Boston area with her husband and daughter.

Mary Hannah (PhD, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) is the director of women in ministry at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. She also teaches Old Testament part-time at Memphis City Seminary. Mary and her husband, Jeff, share a gaggle of beloved nieces and nephews, and two cheery canines keep the Hannah home abounding in fur.

Rebecca McLaughlin holds a PhD from Cambridge University and a theology degree from Oak Hill Seminary in London. She is the author of several books, including Confronting Christianity, The Secular Creed, Jesus Through the Eyes of Women, and Does the Bible Affirm Same-Sex Relationships?.
