Sexual abuse is a pervasive and dark reality in our broken world, affecting more women than we’d ever realize. The effects of sexual abuse penetrate a woman’s heart and shape her beliefs, emotions, and views of God, relationships, and sexuality. Jesus Christ came “to proclaim good news to the poor and to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1). With a focus on the good gospel news of salvation in Christ as the foundation, this workshop helps explain how sexual abuse breaks the hearts and lives of women, and how God’s people can effectively receive and minister his healing grace.
