Most evangelicals have an uneasy relationship with the Holy Spirit. They know, of course, that he is part of the Trinity, and that he is somehow essential in the sanctification process. Yet many relate to him in the same way they relate to their gall bladder: while glad he’s in there, they are not quite sure how to engage with him. Yet there was something so important about the Holy Spirit that Jesus said it would be to our advantage that he left if it meant we received the Spirit. In this workshop, learn (from Lloyd-Jones, et al) why the future of the mission depends on our recovering the centrality of the Holy Spirit in our ministry, the opportunities and dangers of interacting with the Spirit, and why the fullness of the Spirit is so closely linked to gospel-centeredness in the New Testament.
