On today’s podcast, TGC president Don Carson shares thoughts on how to understand the prophecies in Isaiah that point to the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ.
- Isaiah gives us a spectacular expectation of a Davidic king (Isa. 9).
- Isaiah introduces us to the term “Immanuel” (Isa. 7:14).
- Isaiah introduces us to the Suffering Servant (Isa. 52:13–53:12).
- Isaiah promises a new heaven and new earth (Isa. 65:17).
- Isaiah looks forward to the ultimate freedom from exile brought about by the salvation we have in Christ Jesus.
- Isaiah promises a branch from the stump of Jesse, signaling hope after God’s judgment (Isa. 11).
